Jaguar 2.4 Ltr Mk1 Saloon 1958
Jaguar Cars, England
Although the name Jaguar applied to certain models of cars produced by Swallow Coachbuilders (later SS Cars) as early as 1936, it was not until 1945 that it became a trade name. Based on its successful racing cars, Jaguar introduced the 2.4 ltr touring models in 1956, with full unitary construction and disc brakes.
6 cylinders XK, 700 twin overhead camshafts driven by two-stage roller chain, 83 mm bore, 76.5 mm stroke, 2483 cc (112 bhp at 5750 rpm), twin Solex downdraught carburettors.

Jaguar E Type 4.2 Ltr Roadster 1966
Jaguar Cars, England
The first of the E Type Jaguars appeared in 1961 with a 3.8 ltr engine developing 265 bhp. The engine size was increased in 1966 to make this exhibit an example of the fastest of all E Types. A very popular and much admired sports roadster.
6 cylinders in line, dohc, 92.1mm bore, 106 mm stroke, 4235 cc, (265 bhp at 5400 rpm), triple SU carburettors.

Jaguar Mk V Drophead 1950
Jaguar Cars Ltd, Coventry
Sir William Lyons changed the name of SS Cars Ltd to Jaguar in 1945, and although "100 Series" sports cars were advertised, Jaguar built only saloons in 1946. An injection of capital that year made it possible to develop the XK engine and all-new cruciform chassis, which was ready some time before the engine, and the Mk V was introduced with the new chassis and the existing Standard/Vanguard derived engine.
2.5 or 3.5 ltr engine, 125 bhp, torsion bar.

Jaguar XJ6 2.8 1970
Jaguar Cars, England
A popular model with new features for the time including anti-dive front suspension, rack and pinion power steering. Donated by Mrs Davis of Waikanae.
6 cylinders, 2790 cc dohc, four speed manual transmission with overdrive.

Jeepney
Leonardo Sarao, The Philippines
The Jeepney, developed from World War II Jeeps, has become an institution in the Philippines, being both a popular means of public transport and an often photographed tourist attraction. Lavish ornamentation by their owners have transformed the Jeepney into a unique vehicle. The purchase and building of this Jeepney was kindly overseen by Mr Carlos Arguelles of the Philippine Motor Association.
