Taipan Sports 1982

Toyota SERA 1990
Toyota Motor Co, Japan
The SERA was Toyota's entry into a domestic market for novelty cars which flourished briefly in Japan in the early 1990's. The 1500 cc Starlet-based SERA closely followed a concept car unveiled earlier at the Tokyo Motor Show, with it's gull-wing doors and sleek appearance. The novelty quickly wore off and only 15,000 of this model were made - demand dwindling to just 553 cars in 1993 when production ceased. This model was never officially imported into New Zealand because it does not comply with NZ safety standards. Donated by Toyota NZ.
1.5ltr, 4 cylinders, dohc with EFi and 4 valves per cylinder. Four speed electronic auto transmission.

Trekka Utility Van 1972
Motor Holdings Group, NZ
One of the few New Zealand built production vehicles. Mainly built for farm use as a cheaper version of the Landrover. Donated by Mr Doug Shaw of Picton.

Triumph Herald Special 1967
The Triumph Herald introduced a new space frame backbone chassis which was also common to the Triumph Spitfire sports car. Many a rusty Triumph-Herald has sacrificed it's original Michelotti-designed body for a whole new style, with bodywork having been produced by kit car and home builders alike. This example has a woven cane body made by Dave Kelly in the Wairarapa.

Triumph Renown 1952 Sedan
Triumph Motor Co Ltd, England
Razor edged four door saloon with box section frame and front coil springs, powered by a Standard Vanguard engine and three speed column shift gearbox. Only 2,800 of this Mk II model produced. Donated by Mr Alan Cordwell of Auckland.

Triumph Stag 1975
British Leyland Motor Co, England

Turosar 1800 Special
This highly unusual looking car was built by Mr Ron Whitman of Wellington. Taking 5,000 hours to complete, this two seater rear engined car was built around a VW chassis. It features gullwing-type doors and retractable headlights. Even the window catches are handmade.
