| Produced by Brockhouse Engineering in the United Kingdom the original Corgi was based on the Welbike, a light-weight foldable bike used by paratroopers during World War II. Post war they seized on the opportunity to cash in on the Welbike heroics and produced an economical commuter machine. The name "Corgi"? arose from the fact that the low-bellied chassis was likened to the Queen's canines. | |
