The Trust

The Museum Trust is a charitable trust, incorporated in 1972, with the object of preserving for posterity what is believed to be the largest and most varied collection of motor vehicles in the Southern Hemisphere.

To properly house and display the collection a permanent museum was built on a six hectare site close to State Highway One, north of Paraparaumu, which is 40 km North of Wellington, New Zealand, on the scenic Kapiti Coast.

The museum was officially opened to the public in December 1979.

Acknowledgements

The Trust would like to thank the many people who have donated, shall we say, "bits and pieces" that all help to broaden the scope of the collection, and help with restorations. In the following pages we have endeavoured to mention the donors of vehicles etc and to those whose vehicles are not yet on show we apologise.

Vehicles may also be away from the museum from time to time participating in rallies. We would also like to thank the voluntary helpers who have given of their time in many different ways to assist the general running of the museum.
